Fiona Sutherland Fiona has always taken a coaching approach with people . Her first boss gave her the job because she got him talking more about himself than anyone else had in years. A neighbour observed that “Fiona is amazing at almost intuitively summarising a complex matter when you are overwhelmed, and asking just the right questions to help you work out what to do next”. That was a long time ago and since 1998 Fiona has developed her natural coaching skills much further through practice and training. These days, she primarily coaches Financial advisers, other professional advisers, business owners and dynamic entrepreneurs. She is also responsible for creating the Great Coaching services team of coaches.
Fiona now writes articles for the publication “Selling Financial services” and is often asked to speak at events on a wide variety of topics to do with achieving personal and business goals
Powerful combination of skills and experience
Fiona has a Degree in Communication which covers interpersonal and organisational communication, marketing and advertising. Her career started with consultative selling to professional advisers then she became an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA ), then director of a successful IFA practice within a large accountancy firm where she was also the Training and Competence officer, pension transfer specialist (advanced Financial Planning Certificate AFPC qualified) and an adviser to mainly business clients.
Fiona incorporated performance coaching to improve her Financial advisers' performance in their roles. She completed a comprehensive coaching course with Coach University and began coaching and running workshops in her spare time with the overall aim of assisting others to their lives to their full potential.
In 1999 Fiona moved from Aberdeenshire to Surrey to become a Part time business development executive for the pioneering Millfield Partnership where she coached many IFA's to develop themselves and their business encouraging people to work together to their strengths. Through her own coaching business, she coached many other business owners and professionals who generally wanted better business results and a better life balance.
NLP
In 2003 Fiona qualified in NLP (Neuro Linguistic Programming) and Time Line Therapy. She uses these skills to help her clients to understand how they communicate with themselves and others so that they can have greater choice about how they respond to situations.
Fiona is described as an enthusiastic, professional, intuitive coach, who has a sense of fun, is caring yet business minded, inspiring and practical. She helps clients move forward on different levels from their deepest beliefs to the most practical action steps often helping her busy clients to keep an eye on their bigger vision, as well as the short term steps to take.
Fiona is based mainly in Poole and Surrey and is trained to coach by phone and in person
